Date night!!! This is at about 11pm after we got home from Kerri's. Kerri and Dave babysat Holden while Kurt and I went to dinner (eventhough it was gross), gelato, and walked around Gateway Mall. It's nice to get out and not have Holden, even if we talk about him the whole time :) Thanks Kerri and Dave!!!

Trying out convertible carseats. Holden outgrows his infant carseat in 1/2" so we had to find him a new one! We got a great deal and Kurt is installing it tomorrow!

Then decided it would be fun to get into mom's wallet! Holden is constantly on the move. I was doing the dishes and turned around and he already had done all this!

Holden had his 9 month appointment yesterday. He actually weighs 1 less pound then he did when he was 6 months old....doctor is a little worried considering he is in the 3% for weight. SO my peditrician advised us to start him on formula exclusively. I'm having a really hard time with the idea to stop breastfeeding. But like Mary said to me today, it isn't what makes me happy or sad, its what is best for Holden. And he needs the extra nutrients that formula has. I'm gonna keep breastfeeding probably morning and night but for the most part he's a formula eating baby!!

Here Holden is gripping on to me, scared to death because I brought out his sit and ride lion walker Grandma and Grandpa got him for Christmas. He is TERRIFIED of it, anytime he sees it he crawls as fast as he possibly can away from it towards me.



I mean it is terrifying right? The lion is now in hiding in his room under his crib. We'll bring it out in a few days and see how he likes it!

And after....Let's just say he had two baths yesterday. But loved the textures of the spaghetti in his hands. I don't know how much he actually got in his mouth but Riki loved cleaning it up off the ground!!

Out to dinner at a delicious Thai restaurant in Salt Lake. Holden was crazy the whole time, this picture is one of his calmer moments with his sippy cup! Kurt has two friends in town from California so it's been fun catching up and hanging out with them!

Holden loves getting into the cupboard and pulling out everything. He probably does it multiple times daily. This time he somehow managed to open up the Ritz box, open the half open twist tied package and get a few out and munch. I was cleaning the bathroom and came out to find this. Gotta snap a picture before we clean up :)

I read to Holden every night before bed. We read "I'll see you in the Morning" by Mike Jolley and "Goodnight Moon" by Margret Wise Brown. I then sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "You are my Sunshine" It has become our nightly routine. I started reading to him when he was just a few weeks old, but now he sits through the books and will look at the pages and listen. I hope he grows up to be passionate about reading like I am (ok used to be when I had more time) and like his dad.

Holden loves his activity table that Aunt Kerri got him for Christmas. There is a little holder with a lid on it and he loves when I put puffs in it. He opens the lid and shoves as many puffs in his mouth as he can.

Holden LOVES bathtime....as soon as he sees the water running he starts kicking his legs and trying to jump out of our arms into the bath. We have tried him in the "big boy" tub twice...it was a little nerve racking. He was pulling himself up on the edge of the tub and crawling around. We might wait a little longer to try it again. For now, his infant tub works just great!

After Holden's first nap of the day, he wakes up super hungry. Here he is after finishing oatmeal, applesause, and yogurt....his favorite breakfast combo!

We got a new TV and Holden loves that he can pull himself up on the stand and watch TV super close. Lets hope this doesn't hurt his eyesight later on in life!

So I'm copying my sister-in-law's and doing a picture of the day. I love the idea behind it, to take a picture daily. I know I'm a little behind considering its January 12, but I have taken multiple pictures daily since January 1. I just haven't found the time to make a blog and get it up and running. Holden is down for his 2nd nap, the house is clean, so I have some free time on my hands.

Most of the pictures I take are of Holden....so you will get a lot of Holden pictures which I'm sure relatives around the country don't mind seeing :)
