This picture is for Grandpa Irby.
Holden during one of his screaming fits. It's his new thing, to scream for no reason. And I'm sure he loves it when I take pictures of him screaming instead of helping the situation :)
I was so sick of being disorganized. Our old organization system consisted of a big plastic tupperware filled with papers. So it took over 3 hours, but we are fully organized...well at least our papers are! Now the task will be to make sure I file all new papers that come in!

Doesn't this boy look so old?
So I'm writing this blog post on Sunday even though this picture is for Saturday. But tonight I have been reminded how lucky I am to have this healthy precious boy in my life. I have read a few different blogs tonight where other parents baby's are dying, sick with cancer, or have passed away. As I read the blogs, I wanted to go scoop Holden out of bed, give him a big hug, kiss him, and rock him back to sleep while he is safely in my arms. It makes me want to take back the time today where I lost my patience and told him to stop screaming. I want to cherish every moment I have with him. Every night I sing him a couple songs and say a prayer where I ask Heavenly Father to keep Holden safe, warm, and have good dreams as he sleeps and that he will be a healthy boy. I love Holden more than words can describe, he came into our life unexpectedly but I wouldn't want my life any other way. I am so grateful for Holden, he teaches me patience, love, happiness, kindness, and how to be a better mother. Holden L. Youngberg, I love you.
I also want Holden to know how much I love his father. I know I have said it before, but Kurt has transformed into a wonderful dad. But he is also an amazing husband and I know our bond and relationship has grown stronger since having Holden. We have gone through our ups and downs the past year but we have learned how to communicate more effectively which in turn helped us grow as partners. Kurt, you are incredible inside and out, I love you!
At the end of the "365 days of pictures," I want to publish this blog into a book and give it to Holden. I want him to know how deep my love is for him and I am honored to be his mother.
Ok, sappy post is done :)

Holden destroying his new book. I turned my back for like 10 seconds and he already had ripped off a few of the letters.
I was looking back through the blog and realized it looks like we NEVER leave our house. If you were to read the blog it consists of eating in the high chair, reading, and playing with toys. Trust me, we do leave the house I just never take our big new camera with us because we don't have a case for it yet. So I will try to get some more variety going on with the pictures!

I was on my DEATH bed on Thursday. So Kurt was Mr. Mom and did a fantastic job. He took care of Holden the whole day while I was going between the couch and the bathroom with a trashbag in my hands....yea I got the 24 hour flu bug. I haven't had it since I was around 8 years old and my dad set up a TV in my bedroom and brought me saltines and flat coke :)
So Kurt fed Holden breakfast, took him out to run some errands, took Riki to the dog park, went out to lunch, cleaned, napped, and made dinner for the 2 of them. By the end of the night Kurt was exhausted and saw what it was like to be me on the weekends by myself while he's at work.
I was able to pull myself off the couch for a minute to take this picture. I heard them playing in Holden's room and I knew it would be a cute picture. I turned it black and white because the colors were so off but I did not care and dragged myself back to the couch.

So I started using Picasa to add pictures to the blog but I can't figure out how to add more then one picture onto the same post.....
Anyways, I thought this picture was too cute not to share. Kurt is trying to get Holden down for a nap and Holden is just staring at him. I love the time they are able to spend together

As you have seen before, Holden loves getting the crackers out from the cabinet and feed himself. Well today he decided to also feed Jariki and it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. He thought it was so funny, he would get super nervous when he put his hand to her mouth. But Jariki was extremely sweet and took it from his hands very gently.
Very excited, I know its a little blurry but I thought it was too cute of Holden's expression
Jariki patiently waiting for another cracker. I think he fed her at least 15 crackers and I took over 200 pictures.
Maybe they will become friends after all!
Then just had to post this picture. Holden fell while trying to climb the entertainment center and hit his head right on the corner....poor guy

I have been snapping pictures all day just to test different settings and lighting. So we are doing "A day in the life of Holden"
First thing in the morning Holden gets his bottle and watches Sesame Street. His wake up call is anywhere from 6:00 to 6:30
Breakfast time! We wait about a hour after his bottle to eat breakfast. Today breakfast consisted of graham cracker sticks, banana, and yogurt.
Then Holden plays for a little while
He gets a second bottle
Then beautiful nap time which lasts about 2 hours....
When he woke up we took Riki to the dog park and ran some errands. I didn't bring the camera with us, it would have been a little tricky with the dog and carrying Holden.
Play some more
Change our top to eat messy leftover spaghetti for lunch.
And melt down just in time for our 2nd nap! Change back out of our messy spaghetti shirt and go to sleep!
Wake up veryy crabby!!!!
But manage to play some more before dinner and bed. He was playing with the lens cap and it went under the bathroom door. I love when he crouches down to find something. I know this picture is dark, I can't figure out how to lighten it up without using the flash. I'm sure I will figure it out :)
Eat dinner Morningstar veggie burger dipped in ketchup and carrots, corn, and peas.
I didn't get any pictures after dinner. I gave him a quick bath and he totally melted down after and went right to bed!
So there we go, day in the life of Holden. I think I took over 300 pictures. I love playing around with all the settings and functions on the camera.

Holden figured out how to get into the graham crackers, lets just say he made a mess but loved eating them! Anytime he's up for eating I'm completely encouraging even if the mess is huge!
Holden LOVES going into his room and playing. He figured out how to open his bedroom door and crawl in. He goes in there all the time so now we need to better baby proof his room so we feel comfortable letting him just play without worrying about cords or other things!

Holden taking his morning nap. I love his new PJ's...he looks so old in them! And yes he likes to sleep on top of the blanket as a pillow!
This is how he gives kisses, with his mouth wide open! Happy Valentines Day!!
Holden had a bad diaper rash so I was brave enough and let him go naked for about 15 min. He loved EVERY minute of it. When I went to put his diaper back on he had Jariki hair all over his bum, disgusting. Did I tell you I vacuum at least once a day and still her hair is everywhere? Drives me nutty!
