7.16.10

Before we left Mammoth for Lake Tahoe we stopped in Bishop for breakfast and a tour of my cousin's house. It was so peaceful in Bishop, they are right up against the mountains so the backdrop is beautiful. We got the tour of the house, pool, garden and of course the Thunderbird. My dad wanted me to get a few pictures of the car that was his sisters and when she passed Paul (my cousin and my dads sisters son) got the car.

These pictures are for you dad!

When we arrived at Lake Tahoe we checked into our cabin (the 1st one smelt strongly of pee, 2nd one smelt like smoke so we got upgraded to a beach front 3 bed 3 bath amazing condo). After we checked in, we headed across the street for the "Welcome dinner" with the whole wedding crew. The above picture is of Hallie (the brides daughter) and Holden playing. She loved trying to take care of Holden, she was so sweet.

Right outside the condo we stayed in there is a newly formed hiking/biking/walking trail that goes up to some lakes. We decided to take an early morning walk before Holden took his nap.

For dinner, we went to my cousins house in Mammoth. She lives there with her husband and son, and my other cousins (her dad) lives in Bishop which is about 30 min down from Mammoth. I haven't seen them since our wedding in 2007 so it was nice to catch up and spend time with them.
Holden and Jude (I don't even know what cousin they are...1st 2nd 3rd??) I'm not even sure what # cousin ReAnnon and I are! But they are family and thats all that really matters

On Wednesday we decided to do a hike in Mammoth. We hiked to Devil's Postpile and then up to Rainbow falls. Holden was really good, he loves being in the baby pack. And Jariki was loving life, she was chasing squirrels and chipmunks.

Being silly before the hike
Getting in the pack!
Devils postpile. It was formed with basalt lava I believe? However it was formed, it was amazing to see it.

On the way up to Rainbow falls
Rainbow falls...about 100 feet

Jariki was very tired, but SO happy, after the hike
And Holden conked out on the drive home, it was hard sitting in the pack all day while Kurt carried it!

Private?

Thinking about going private on the blog.

I know I look at other peoples blogs that I don't know and as Kurt likes to say I'm a creeper. But I think its normal for people to check out other blogs..what do you think?

Well anyways, I don't love the idea of people looking into our daily life that I don't know. So send me your email and I will add you onto my blog if I decide to go private in the next few days. And if your a "creeper" just send me your email if at least I know how you started reading my blog!

7.13.10

We are off to Mammoth Lakes CA! Holden is a well seasoned traveler! We had a flight from Portland to LAX (with a lovely 3 hour layover in a tiny terminal) and from LAX to Mammoth Lakes. The plane ride from LAX to Mammoth was beautiful!

Being silly on the plane
We took the tiniest plane, it was a propeller plane and thank goodness there was no turbulence!

7.12.10

Long day shopping, crossing over the bridge into Portland, realizing its rush hour and will take 2 hours to get back, whoops! So it was a long day, but a fun day with my family!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my sister, Cara!!!

(Photo taken in 2007 for her bachelorette party!)

We were in Vancouver WA for my nieces baby blessing. She is beautiful, eats well, sleeps well, and I didn't hear her cry once for the few days I was there...very impressive.

Cam and Sariah again. I'm amazed about how good he is with babies and kids. He loves playing with them and holding them. Holden LOVES his Uncle Cam, anything Cam does he laughs and laughs. He is such a good uncle and brother! I miss him so much.
