This is what Holden wore for most of the day. I was cleaning out closets, packing up clothes, and doing laundry. He actually ran into walls and doors a bunch of times because the hood was so big on his head he couldn't see side to side.

Bath time fun

Splashing is his favorite

One of my friends, Natalie, back from when I was a baby is having a baby! We went to her baby shower on Saturday and are so excited for her! Can't wait to meet the cute baby girl!

And Holden really does love her, he was just trying to get the basketball :)

Birthday!

Yep only pictures I took from my birthday....

We went out to dinner at Stoneground! I got some beautiful flowers, love from facebook friends and family, sweet phone calls from friends and family, and birthday wishes through text. I also got a fun party at work complete with ice cream, 7 layer bars, amd starburst (they already know what a sweets person I am). I had a low key birthday, but a great one!

Spring break

Spring break was last week and I realized a while ago we have never done anything for it. So I suggested to Kurt to go camping, Holden and I couldn't go since I had to work. So he left Tuesday night for Moab and came back Friday. He really needed the alone time and the freedom to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted! I'm really happy he got the opportunity to go. And thank you again, I feel like thank you isn't even enough anymore, but thank you to my sweet sister in law's who took Holden so Kurt could go and I could work.

The little lady and Kurt before hitting the road.
And P.S. Kurt---when can I go on a trip without Holden? Love you

Jammin with Dad

I love these 2 boys. And I love that Holden had to have a hat like dad...and turn it around backwards like dad too. And I love that Holden loves music just like his dad.

My toddler

Holden is in the stage where he loves to line things up..especially his cars. Love the toddler mind

St. Patricks Day

Holden woke up to a trail of glitter leading to a rainbow and a pot of Gold...tricky little leprechaun

And he dyed our eggs GREEN!

Beginning stages of potty training? Maybe not...

Warning: There is a picture of poop at the end, so if you have a sensitive stomach don't continue reading!

We got Holden a toilet because he has been very interested in whats going on in his diaper and when we go to the bathroom. So we figured why not try and see what he does? We knew 100% not to push potty training and he isn't even 2 yet so it's more of a joke than anything.
So we asked Holden if he wanted to sit on the potty and he said "yea..poo poo?" So he sat on it and immediately went pee. So we got him a few chocolate chips and praised him and praised him. He immediately sat back on it after we emptied out the potty and went pee again..and again...and again...and again...and again. I think he was pushing pee out so he could get chocolate chips. He even brought his waterbottle with him to the bathroom and was chugging water.
His 1st pee in the potty
A few hours later, Kurt left to go to the gym and I was doing the dishes while Holden was sitting on his potty. After he would go he would always say "Mom" and come grab me to look at his accomplishment, even if it was a few dribbles. Well, this time he started bawling crying so I ran into the bathroom and he was sqatting on the ground with poop on the floor. I don't think he understood he could go poop in the potty as well as pee. We talked about it and I told him it was purely an accident and it was no big deal. He then ran into his room and grabbed a diaper! And that is the end of potty training.

That day he went pee probably over 10 times in the potty

And has gone about 2 times since in the past 2 weeks. Time to put the potty away and try another time!

Just a typical morning

Park day

60 degree weather on Sunday...I know SPRING is on it's way and I can't wait! I am so sick of the frigid temps and snow.

I know Holden and Riki are also ready for warmer weather, that way we can go to the dog park! Riki can play and Holden and I play on the playground next to it!

Usually Holden doesn't like to swing but he was loving it yesterday

Going down the big boy slide!

Kurt got off work early so we met him for dinner at Dodo, perfect ending to a fun day!

Ezra and Evy

We watched Ezra and Evy one morning and had a fun time! Holden and Evy are good friends now and they play so nicely together!

Eating straight out of the oven banana bread!
Ezra built lots of little buildings and insisted we put them on the table so they wouldn't get knocked over! I love all the different colors he used!

Craft #1

I made this http://ucreatewithkids.blogspot.com/2011/02/creative-guest-valentines-memory-game.html for Holden. I was supposed to get it done by Valentines day but that didn't happen. Anyways, I finished it this morning and it looks cute and Holden loves to play with it!

I think this may be my first real craft I have finished for Holden. I'm really wanting to get more into sewing and crafting. Especially at this new job, I have a lot of time on my hands!

So hopefully you will be seeing some more fun crafts!

Tired of cleaning up poop

Holden has had quite the stomach bug since Wednesday. So we've kept things pretty low key around the house, with only a few adventures out into the cold. Like.....
Cuddle time with Dad
Embarrassing Jariki
Drinking lots of pedialite and Gatorade. And eating lots of bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.
Playing with puzzles, trucks, reading books, etc.
Trotting around in mom's heels
Playing with Mr. Potato Head
And cheesing it up for the camera. When Holden wants his picture taken now, he'll sit or stand wherever and just say "cheese" and I know I have to get out the camera!

We are crossing our fingers this bug passes soon because it's 4, almost 5, days and still going strong!!

Snow day!

Holden loves the snow...so after the big snow fall last week we got out at 8:30am to play in the snow!

Holden loved to chase and throw snow at me!

Yumm he also loved to eat the snow!

Miss you, Diesel!

We'll miss your crazy smile, playdates with Jariki, and your ever showing red rocket.

Just working

Holden was busy stamping and coloring while Kurt was busy doing homework

Holden 22 months

I know these posts are far and few between. But every once in a while a thought pops in my head that I should be recording some "milestones" of Holden's. Poor kid he's the 1st and I still am so not good about recording anything. I still don't have a baby book made for him!
My little guy isn't a big talker, but here are the few words that do come out of his mouth besides "THIS" and "EH" (for...what??)

-pee pee
-poopy
-nope
-up
-Evy
-Nina
-doop (for thank you..no idea where he learned it from)
-juice
-please
-hat
-hot
-shoes
-oil
-oreo (no clue...we have only had oreos in our house like once or twice)
-eat
-hurt
-Steve
-Nana
-Bapa
Songs he loves to sing:

-Wheels on the Bus...and he has just started doing all the signs
-Little Bunny Fufu...he scoops the field mice up and bonks them on the head..pretty cute
-Baby's ball...favorite from day one. Thanks to Nana for teaching it to us
-Itsy Bitsy Spider
-2 little blackbirds
-I'm a little teapot
-5 little ducks
-Snuggle up together
-Every night I still sing him Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and You are my Sunshine. I have a vivid memory of my mom singing me that song, so it holds a special little place in my heart.

-Holden has started shaking his finger and say "No no no" when he doesn't want you to do something. Though, he mostly does it at Jariki!
-He loves to say his ABC's. He has gotten most of the letters down, but can't really sing it on his own yet. These are the times I WANT a video camera!
-If Holden could, he would have us read to him 24 hours a day. He will go get book after book. I love it! Last Saturday, we went to the library and read in the children's section and he loved every second of it. I think we will make it our little tradition
-It's no secret I love to cook and especially bake treats! Holden has begun to love to help me. I got him his own spatula made just for little kids. He helps me stir and whisk. He also loves to dump the flour or sugar or milk or whatever into the bowl. It's a great learning tool too!
-Holden loves to dance! He now has mastered crouching down and shaking it low!
-He loves to unzip and zip his PJ's
-Any food I give him now he always has to ask if it's hot, and even when I say it's not he still blows on it.
-Tells us if he is poopy
-Is obsessed with trucks, dump trucks, plows...etc. He's all boy. When we are driving and he sees any sort of truck he always points
-If I tell him something exciting he will throw his hands up in the hair and say "YEA!"
-Still is head over heels in love with his dad...when dad comes home it's the greatest time of his day!
-Sleeps from 8:00 or 8:30 to 7:00 or 7:30 (7:30 happens considerably less) And still naps from about 1 to 3
-Loves to play with his cousin Evy. He goes to Eric and Nina's house on Mondays and he loves it! Evy and him are going to be great friends!
-Holden now tells secrets. He will whisper in our ear either poopy or pee pee and thinks he is so funny. Ask him to tell you a secret next time you see him :)

We love our guy and I have to say this is the best stage. He learns something new every day and I love seeing his progress.
